He’s also presented ABC’s post-Oscar shows in recent years.
Jimmy joked: “They asked like 14 people and they all said no and then there was me. I absolutely was surprised.”
“The producers and the Academy went through a long list of names, and in the end, they decided that — since I am already right across the street from where they do the show — I was the closest person to host.”
He’s getting paid £12,000 for the night.

How to Watch Online

The 2017 oscars will air on February 26th at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. For those interested in catching the show’s typically legendary fashion, ABC will air a red carpet special an hour before the show kicks off. If you’re looking to kick off the festivities as early as possible, E! will begin broadcasting their Countdown to the Red Carpet at 1:30 p.m. EST, discussing the trends of this past award season as well as Oscar fashion history overall. E!’s Live From the Red Carpet will begin at 5:30 p.m. EST, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic.

For those who want to find a way to watch beyond a traditional TV setup, the Oscars can be streamed online from ABC Go as well as the ABC app. However, the livestream is only accessible with a login from a cable provider. The ABC site will also offer a separate livestream called The Oscars: All Access that will show backstage interviews with nominees and presenters in lieu of the show stream.
